SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
Ms. Smith is an attorney in the San Antonio, Texas office of The Stark Firm. Ashley has extensive experience representing commercial lending institutions, including major regional and national banking institutions, in the financing and management of commercial real estate, including SBA loans, construction term, mezzanine and revolving loan facilities, loan syndications and participations, loan restructurings and refinancings, debtor-in-possession financing, foreclosures, and the leasing, management and sale of properties acquired through foreclosure, out-of-court workouts and related restructurings, creditor’s rights, floor plan financing, Article 9 sales, evictions, post-judgment recovery, chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy related matters and various domestic and international commercial real estate transactions, including all related litigation. She also focuses her practice on assisting clients in the preparation of all variety of commercial real estate contracts and forms, including office and retail leasing contracts.
Ashley is a member of the Texas State Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Women Lawyers, Texas Chapter of International Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation and the Mortgage Bankers Association. She is admitted to practice in all state courts throughout the States of Texas and Illinois, as well as the U.S. District Court for Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern and Central Districts of Illinois.
She graduated from Southern Methodist University (B.A. and J.D.) and Loyola University School of Law (LL.M.).
Prior to joining The Stark Firm, Ms. Smith served as Chief of Staff for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
